Argentina vs Switzerland FIFA World Cup 2026: India time, live streaming, lineups, other details

Defending champions Argentina will look to continue their title defence when they take on Switzerland in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final at Kansas City Stadium on Sunday (IST). A victory will send either side into the semi-finals.

Argentina's journey so far

Argentina have been among the standout teams of the tournament, winning all three Group J matches with Lionel Messi once again leading from the front. The captain has netted eight goals so far and further strengthened his record as the highest goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history.

The knockout rounds, however, have tested Lionel Scaloni's side. Argentina needed an extra-time own goal to edge past tournament debutants Cabo Verde in the Round of 32 before producing a dramatic late comeback to defeat Egypt 3-2 in the Round of 16.

Switzerland chasing history

Switzerland have enjoyed a memorable campaign, reaching the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1954.

Murat Yakin's men defeated Algeria 2-0 in the Round of 32 before overcoming Colombia in a penalty shootout in the Round of 16 despite the absence of breakout star Johan Manzambi. The Swiss will now look to reach the World Cup semi-finals for the first time in their history.
