A few good points to think about:
This is no doubt bad news for both teams. Brazil have a game on Tuesday (less time to recover) and Argentina travel to face Colombia away.

and just so you know I wasn’t lying about that rain...

Welcome folks to this monumental game in the Conmebol calendar. Argentina v Brazil. Amazingly enough, this is only their seventh meeting in a World Cup qualifier, with only one draw back in 2008. It hasn’t been smooth for either team so far, and this is a huge battle where a win can mean more than just a scoreline. In my opinion you don’t get more exciting than South American qualifiers and it doesn’t get bigger than this one.
So here are my thoughts.
Argentina: Martino has a depleted squad, especially upfront. No Messi, Aguero or Tevez is surely an issue for el Albiceleste, but with Higuaín on form for Napoli and the support of Di María and Lavezzi, there is no lack of talent. They are searching for their first win of their campaign and only a point to their name.
Brazil: The big piece of news is that Neymar returns. The forward wasn’t around in the first two games and this is great news for Dunga as his star player, supported by the wonderful Douglas Costa and free-kick maestro, Willian, is on fire for Barcelona. He’ll be looking to cause some havoc tonight. But Brazil need to prove that they are not “Neymarpendiente” (Neymardependent) and have more than just their golden boy. Argentina, without Messi, know exactly what I am talking about.
So, a match with tremendous passion, vigor and history. The question is: Can they take control of the present that awaits them at the Monumental?
I’ll be back with the line-ups shortly.
