Areas of Nottinghamshire with highest and lowest life expectancy

New research shows what the average life expectancy is for every area of Nottinghamshire. Figures show a six-year gap between the areas with the highest and lowest in the county.

Babies born in parts of Nottingham will live to be 78 years old on average, according to new research by Health Equals. Meanwhile, in Southwell the life expectancy is 84 years old.

The average is also high across many areas of Rushcliffe, such as Bingham, Cotgrave and Keyworth. Pockets of Nottingham such as Forest Fields, Radford and Lenton rank amongst the lowest.

Across the UK as a whole, parts of Bradford and Dundee have the lowest average life expectancy (76), with people in the Somerset market town of Bruton having the highest (92). Carrie Hume, Head of Health Equals said: “Our members are diverse but carry the same message.

"The size of the UK’s life expectancy gap is entirely preventable, but not enough attention is paid to how our health is shaped by our interactions with the world around us. We’re calling on politicians to take action, doing more to understand what shapes our health, and creating plans to improve our opportunities for good health.”
