More than 900 formal warnings for anti-social behaviour have been issued against North Lanarkshire tenants this year.
Along with a further 39 notice of proceedings, council chiefs say this is sending out a clear message that unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated.
North Lanarkshire’s anti-social response service works round the clock to clamp down on persistent anti-social bother.
“Our team is equipped to tackle issues ranging from lifestyle disputes and dogs barking, to noisy parties and intimidating and threatening behaviour,” said Stephen Llewellyn, head of housing solutions.
“In addition to the responsive element, staff are dedicated to supporting residents and working with them and their neighbours to stop low level issues from escalating. It’s important people understand the impact their behaviour can have.

“We also visit local secondary schools and work with pupils to explore how to be a good neighbour and make positive life choices.
“We continue to use feedback from residents to ensure our service meets the need of the local community and improves lives for our tenants and residents.”
The council says that by tackling neighbour disputes at an early stage, their trained mediators stopped issues involving 232 sets of neighbours escalating.
And by combining their daytime investigation service, mediation and out-of-hours witnessing services, and working effectively with our partners Police Scotland, they say they have resolved 99.99 per cent of contacts made.
