The area of low pressure near southern Texas and northeastern Mexico has a zero percent chance of becoming a tropical system, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The low pressure trough originally was forecast to have as high as a 60% chance to become a tropical cyclone when it was observed earlier this week, the hurricane center said.
Hurricane season officially began Saturday, but had the low pressure area developed, it would've been the second named system of 2019.
However, heavy rainfall is still expected for Mexico and the southern United States, according to NHC.
As a result, flash flooding is likely Wednesday across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, according to the NHC.
