More than 80,000 people have signed up to a Facebook page for a march in London on Saturday to show solidarity with refugees. The event starts at noon at Marble Arch and the protestors plan to march towards Downing Street.

Ros Ereira, who set up the Facebook page, said:

I hope that the demonstration can show our government that there are many people in the UK who would like to welcome more refugees into the country. That we can’t watch as more people die in their attempt to reach Europe. That we recognise that we are witnessing a humanitarian crisis and that so many of us want to help.

There are rallies being organised in other UK cities such as Glasgow, Belfast, Liverpool and Bristol.

If you’re planning on taking part in the march in London or elsewhere, we’d like to hear from you. Share your photos and videos and tell us why you’re joining in.
