Donald Trump’s defeat may have dominated international headlines after he was relegated to second place in the Iowa caucuses, but an equally fascinating story was developing on the Democratic side.

Expected frontrunner Hillary Clinton was taken to the wire by Bernie Sanders, the self-declared socialist senator from Vermont. While Iowa is the first of many tests on the long road to securing the Presidential nomination, Sanders’ supporters will be buoyed by the thought that the race is by no means a forgone conclusion.

“The people of Iowa have sent a very profound message to the political establishment, the economic establishment, and by the way to the media establishment,” Sanders told supporters after the count.

We’re interested in hearing from Democratic supporters in the US, in order to help explain the race to our international audience. In contrast to a crowded Republican field, the the Democratic contest is now a two horse race after Martin O’Malley withdrew after his poor performance in Iowa.

We want you to let us know which candidate you’re leaning towards. Which do you think has more of a chance of winning in November? Which candidate more closely matches your own political beliefs and priorities? Or do you feel that neither candidate has what you’re looking for?
