'Are you going to fine yourself?' - Erik ten Hag's funny response to cheeky Man United press conference question

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was in good spirits during his press conference on Tuesday afternoon, with the Reds boss joking with the journalists in attendance after arriving late.

The Dutchman was conducting his pre-Leeds United press conference at Carrington ahead of United's clash with the Whites on Wednesday night. However, the 53-year-old arrived late as he was dealing with a VISA procedure, with the Reds boss admitting that there was a technical problem.

While Ten Hag was explaining why he was late, the Manchester Evening News' chief United writer Samuel Luckhurst was quick to joke with the Reds manager about him fining himself. Since his arrival in the summer, the Dutchman has insisted that players arrive on time, and has even dropped players when failing to uphold the standards.

"I want to apologise that I'm late, I had to do a procedure for the VISA and there was a technical problem, so that's why," said Ten Hag.

Luckhurst jokingly replied: "Are you going to fine yourself then?"

Ten Hag responded: "No fine! I could do nothing about it."

Marcus Rashford was dropped from the starting lineup for United's win over Wolves in December because he overslept and missed a team meeting. Ten Hag confirmed ahead of the game that the England international had lost his place in the attack because of an 'internal disciplinary' issue involving the forward.
