Hundreds of thousands of young Catholic pilgrims are in Kraków, Poland, for World Youth Day – six days of music, prayer and spiritual masterclasses between 25-31 July. If you are one of them, we’d like to hear from you.

Most attendants will be Europeans but more than 180 countries will be represented at the event. Where have you travelled from to be there and what are your reasons for attending? What atmosphere have you found so far? Almost 200 local schools are being used to accommodate pilgrims and more than 28,000 are in tents – where are you staying? Have you seen Pope Francis, who will use a city tram as his popemobile during the trip?

Maybe you’ve also attended a past WYD – from the first in Rome in 1984 to the most recent in Rio in 2013 – and could compare the mood in Poland to previous?

You can share any pictures you have taken of events or people you’ve met, and tell us your stories by clicking on the blue GuardianWitness buttons on this article.
