Are you an Okokok person or a Lalala person? TikTok's newest personality test trend

TikTok's newest trend has seen users define themselves as either a Lalala person or an Okokok person, but what does it actually mean?

The trend comes from the hook of Tyler, the Creator's song 'See You Again', which went viral on the app recently. The song features Kali Uchis, and during the hook she sings a light, airy 'lalala' while Tyler sings 'okokok', leading to people on TikTok categorising personalities into the two parts.

In general, 'okokok' people are more introverted, and 'lalala' people are more extroverted, but the trend extends beyond personality to include either an 'okokok' fashion sense or a 'lalala' fashion sense.

One video, which has over two million views, describes 'okokok' people as smart, an overthinker, ambivert (both introverted and extroverted, depending on the situation) and someone who agrees with everything and follows the rules. This is compared to a 'lalala' person, who is carefree, childish, introverted, and often breaks rules.

The comments are filled with people identifying as either 'lalala' or 'okokok', although some say they feel they're a mix of the two and fit into both.

In other videos, people have characterised different fictional characters from films and TV shows as either 'lalala' or 'okokok'. Examples of fictional 'lalala' characters include Sarah from Outer Banks, Rapunzel from Tangled, and Jesper from Netflix's Shadow and Bone series.

In contrast, people have categorised Anne from Anne with an E as an 'okokok' person, as well as Katniss from The Hunger Games, MJ from Spiderman, and Mario from the Super Mario Bros. film. Each type also has fashion sense to go along with it, as 'okokok' people usually stick to darker colours and baggier clothes, while 'lalala' people wear bright clothes and patterns.
