For millions of people, life on Brookside Close was as much a part of their daily routine as what was happening outside their own front door.
Brookside was broadcast on Channel Four for two decades, and at its peak the Scouse soap attracted huge ratings.
It also broke the mould with several groundbreaking storylines such as the first pre-watershed lesbian kiss and even incest.
Meanwhile several of the soap's stars would go on to have incredible acting careers after starting off on the Close, including Anna Friel, Sue Johnston, Claire Sweeney and Ricky Tomlinson.
