The 2018 season was a disappointing one for the Vikings, surely.
The team finished with an 8-7-1 record and failed to make the playoffs after some experts predicted them to win the Super Bowl.
Nate Davis, our friend over at USA Today Sports, is still pretty optimistic about the Vikings heading into 2019.
Davis has the Vikings ranked No. 6 in his recent NFL Power Rankings.
This is probably the highest you’ll see the Vikings on a ranking like this, but it’s not crazy. The Vikings have a lot of the same talent they did last season, and with the addition of Garrett Bradbury to the offensive line, Minnesota’s biggest weakness last season could end up being a strength.
Plus, Minnesota’s defense had a down season considering the amount of talent it had on that side of the ball. I’d expect a bounce back.
As for the rest of the NFC North, Davis has the Bears ranked ninth, the Packers ranked 14th and the Lions ranked 29th.
