Are UK children getting a bad deal?

Tackling child poverty is one of the things that the government used to like to boast about. Not any more. A report by Unicef has cut through years of ministerial rhetoric by ranking the UK last on child welfare, in a list of 21 advanced nations.

Real Labour Blogger is "embarrassed to be British", while Further-up-the-Road says everyone in Britain should hang their heads in shame.
