Are tickets still available to watch England at EURO 2020?

Twelve months after it was originally scheduled, EURO 2020 will now kick off in just under ten days.

Rome plays host to the opening match between Turkey and Italy on June 11th in a tournament that will be held all over Europe.

With coronavirus-related procedures still in place, capacity restrictions will depend on local governments meaning thousands of unlucky fans will be left disappointed.

UEFA cancelled thousands of tickets earlier this year and in an email sent out to those concerned said that the "number of sold tickets exceeded the new permitted seating capacities."

Other cities, such as Bilbao and Dublin, were ruled out of hosting any games altogether leaving the confirmed list of host cities as follows: Amsterdam, Baku, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Munich, London, Rome, Seville, and Saint Petersburg.

All of England's three group games will be played at Wembley stadium in London, essentially giving Gareth Southgate's side a home advantage.

Each of these group games will have a capacity of 22,500 and it's hoped that once the national lockdown ends - currently scheduled for June 21st - that could be increased. This opens up the possibility of both the semi-finals and final being played in front of a full 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium.

Unfortunately, all tickets are sold out at this point, unless you fancy a hospitality package. UEFA are currently selling those via their official website, priced between £604 for club tickets and £845 for a private suite.

If you want to watch England vs Scotland in a private suite you'd have to pay nearly double that, with the private suite tickets going for more than £1500 per person.

England will open up their campaign against Croatia on June 13th, live on BBC, before facing Scotland and then Czech Republic on June 22nd live on ITV.

Before that they will take part in two friendlies, facing Austria tonight, June 2, before taking on Romania at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough on Sunday, June 6th.
