Are the tips in Greater Manchester still open in Tier 4?

With Greater Manchester being moved into Tier 4, people are having to get used to another set of rules.

Despite some areas of society being closed off due to the new restrictions, others are able to remain open.

Recycling centres across our region are permitted to remain open, even in Tier 4.

This will be welcome news to people who have plenty of waste to remove after the festive holidays.

Following the government's announcement yesterday, Recycle for Greater Manchester confirmed that centres can remain open and asked people to plan ahead.

"From 31st December all recycling centres in Greater Manchester will remain open during Tier 4," a tweet read.

"We are experiencing high volumes of traffic, so please plan your visit carefully."

People are being asked to check ahead to confirm opening times during the festive period.

Recycling centres are open on New Year's Eve, but will be closed on New Year's Day.

More information is available on Recycle for Greater Manchester's website, where people can also find their closest centre.
