Are the Brit Awards live on TV? Jack Whitehall to host 2020 ceremony from O2 Arena

The Brit Awards are back for 2020 when big names from both the British music industry and overseas descend on the O2 Arena in London.

In its 40th year, Brits performers on Tuesday night will include Harry Styles, Lizzo and Sir Rod Stewart while Brits nominees include frontrunners Lewis Capaldi and Dave who are up for four awards each.

In years gone by, the Brit Awards haven't been live, with them typically airing the night after on ITV, which meant that memorable moments that Jarvis Cocker's stage invasion during Michael Jackson's performance of Earth Song in 1996 and Spice Girls' iconic performance a year later, were reported about in the press before millions of viewers actually got to see them.

However, just like in years gone by, the Brits 2020 WILL be live on ITV, with coverage starting at 8pm. If you want some pre-show action, red carpet coverage will start over on ITV2 at 7pm.

And if you're running late tonight or want to re-live any of the live action, you can tune into the Brits on ITV+1 from 9pm or keep an eye out for the show landing on the ITV Hub.

Live coverage is set to end on ITV at 10pm, with Rod Stewart closing the show.
