There is buzz that Shamita Shetty and Aamir Ali are the latest couple in town. What triggered these speculations is their camaraderie as they stepped out from Samita Bangargi and Ashish Chowdhry’s anniversary party on Friday night. A video started doing the rounds online where Aamir was seen escorting Shamita to her car and planting a kiss on her cheek as he saw her off. This instantly led to speculations of the two being in a relationship.
We did some digging and found out that Shamita and Aamir have known each other for quite some time. A source told us, “They have known each other for a few years. However, they’ve been in touch more of late. Now, whether their friendship graduates to a relationship is something that we will have to wait and see.”
Despite repeated attempts, Shamita and Aamir couldn’t be reached for comment.
Later in the day, the actress took to Twitter to dismiss the rumour. She said that she is currently ‘happy and single’ and people should not be ‘narrow-minded’. She wrote, “I’m baffled by society and its convenient prudish mindset all across. Why is every action and every person subjected to scrutiny or snap judgement with no reality check? There are possibilities beyond the narrow-minded assumptions of the NETIZENS.” That wasn’t all. She further said, “it’s high time we open our minds to it! Single n happy .. let’s focus on more important issues in this country!”
Shamita was earlier in a relationship with her Bigg Boss OTT co-participant Raqesh Bapat. However, they parted ways amicably in July last year. Aamir, who was married to Sanjeeda Shaikh, got divorced from her a year ago.
On the work front, who made her debut with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Mohabbatein and was last seen in the film, The Tenant, has been part of several reality shows on TV. Apart from the third season of Bigg Boss, she also participated in the 15th edition of the reality show. She has also participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 and the inaugural season of Bigg Boss OTT. On the other hand, Aamir, who is best remembered for his portrayal of Bajrang Pandey in FIR, has featured in shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Kuchh Is Tara, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil and Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pehal. He is currently exploring the web space.
