Are Seahawks still in the running to sign free agent Jadeveon Clowney?

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has managed to missed yet another offseason and training camp, but is he any closer to signing with an NFL team? With the regular season start just one week away, it seems Clowney might be narrowing his choices.

All indications suggest the Titans and Saints are the teams still showing the most interest.

“We have an offer out,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel said Friday. “We’ve been in contact with Jadeveon . . . and his agent. That’s all I can report. And that’s all I really know.”

While the Titans might have an offer on the table and the Saints are in the hunt as well, that certainly doesn’t rule out Clowney returning to Seattle.

“Always competing,” coach Pete Carroll said Thursday when asked if the Seahawks had been in contact with Clowney’s camp. “Always competing.”

Remember it was just last summer at this time when Seattle pulled off the trade with the Texans to send Clowney to the Seahawks.
