Are Redskins candidate to trade up in draft?

The Washington Redskins have enough in the way of resources to move around the 2019 NFL draft, but should they?

With a big question mark under center, it might make sense for the Redskins to make a move up in the first round if the opportunity presents itself.

The idea has been making the rounds thanks to an interesting comparison:

A year ago, the Buffalo Bills were in a similar spot and moved up. Josh Allen was the pick and the future looks bright. Granted, the Bills face one of the league’s tougher rebuilds and sacrificing draft assets to move up was a big ask, but the result could be shoring up the most important position in the game.

If the Redskins like one of the top quarterback prospects this year, letting go of a few picks wouldn’t hurt as much as it did for the Bills. Most of the offensive line is solid, as is the defense, so moving a few spots could end up elevating the roster in the long run.

As of right now, the Redskins have Colt McCoy and the hope they can find a veteran or rookie to win now. If it’s the latter, moving up to compete now and secure the long-term outlook looks to be an obvious decision.
