‘Are people safe to go out?’: Jewish community reacts to Golders Green terror incident

  • Jewish community leaders have warned that antisemitic behaviour is becoming "normalised" on London's streets following a recent attack.
  • Two men were stabbed in Golders Green, a Jewish area of north London, on Wednesday, 29 April.
  • A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident.
  • Louise Jacobs, vice chair of the Jewish Leadership Council, stated that the current atmosphere makes the Jewish community feel such behaviour is becoming normalised.
  • While grateful for government funding for security, Ms Jacobs described it as a "sticking plaster" for a much larger problem. Sir Keir Starmer has condemned the "utterly appalling" attack.
