Are Nottingham Forest overachieving so far this season? Championship squad values ranked

Nottingham Forest have made an electric start to the Championship season.

The Reds head into the international break sitting in second place, level on 22 points with leaders West Bromwich Albion after 11 games.

It is a start few expected with the likes of Leeds United and Fulham to contend with, as well as accounting for a bedding-in period for manager Sabri Lamouchi, who only arrived in the summer for his first experience of English football.

But he and Forest have wasted no time, winning six and losing only one of their first 11 League games to build an eye-opening platform for the rest of the campaign.

There is plenty of time for things to change over a long Championship season, but based on the start Lamouchi's men have made, just how much are they overachieving?

We have taken a look at the squad value of each Championship side to find out where Forest should be.

And the results tell us the Reds are indeed punching above their weight so far.

Based on squad value according to Transfermarkt, Lamouchi's side should be in seventh place - five lower than they currently sit.

Fulham possess the most valuable group of players in the division and they are second favourites to win promotion - but they are currently in seventh following a slip-up against Charlton Athletic at the weekend.

Stoke City are the biggest underachievers, possessing the second-most valuable squad but currently sitting bottom after a nightmare start.
