John Duncan, former Guardian staffer and Observer managing editor, believes that online newspaper audiences are wildly exaggerated. To argue his case he has taken what he calls "a tortuous mathematical route." You'll need to go to his blog for the maths but, in a nutshell, this is his view. Websites are growing very slowly, if at all. Internet audiences are nothing like as large as the figures suggest. Indeed, newsprint reach remains larger. He argues his point by reassessing The Guardian's figures. See if you agree with him. (Via Ink Sniffer)
