Are Newcastle United playing better football this season than last? Fans have their say

Newcastle United fans have rejected Kevin Kilbane's claim that Steve Bruce's side are playing 'better football' than they did under Rafa Benitez.

The BBC 5 Live pundit took to the airwaves to praise Bruce's style of play - just hours after United had failed to register a single shot on target against Burnley.

"I actually think they're playing better football than last year," Kilbane said.

"I saw the last couple of games where they didn't actually play too well across the course of the games, but across the season they've played better football than last year."

Some United fans though don't agree.

'We played cracking stuff towards end of last season'

'It's been pretty much the same'

'We're winning - it's a miracle, it's called Dubravka'

'We were awful to watch last season and we still are'

The result against Burnley ended United's three game unbeaten run in the Premier League, and the game against Turf Moor was not one that will be well remembered by Toon fans.

United without Allan Saint-Maximin, Miguel Almiron and Jonjo Shelvey struggled to create many chances with the best falling to Andy Carroll and Dwight Gayle.
