Lionel Messi will look to torment more Premier League opposition when Barcelona meet Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday night.
The competition's second all-time leading goal-getter - behind only Cristiano Ronaldo - leads the scoring charts once again this term, with his brace in the last-eight win over Manchester United taking his tally for the season to 10 (Saturday's LaLiga-clinching effort against Levante means he is now on 44 across all competitions).
English teams have suffered more than most at the hands of Golden Shoe chaser Messi, with the Argentine notching no fewer than 24 times against challengers from these shores.
Such a record includes nine strikes against Arsenal, six against Manchester City, four against Manchester United, three against Chelsea and two against Tottenham.
Intriguingly, Messi has yet to find the net against Liverpool, having only faced them twice in a two-legged last-16 affair back in 2007.
On that occasion, Barcelona were surprisingly ousted on away goals after Craig Bellamy and John Arne Riise's heroics at Camp Nou, with Deco and Eidur Gudjohnsen the players to score for the Blaugrana.
