Are Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling set to grace Bristol City's Ashton Gate stadium?

Some of the world's best players could be set to grace Ashton Gate later this year as Bristol City's home ground is reported to be a surprise candidate to host the England senior team's final game of the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

The Sun report FA officials have visited the Championship ground to check out its suitability to hold the match against Montenegro on November 13 which they are keen to take away from Wembley Stadium.

The report follows comments England U21 manager Aidy Boothroyd made last week when he said England's senior team are considering playing at Ashton Gate.

The England under-21s boss was talking after Thursday night's 1-1 draw with Poland at Bristol City's ground, which was cheered on by a raucous crowd of 25,119.

Praising the atmosphere that night, he said: "To get a crowd like that was exactly what these young lads needed. It was great support for England but it was also great support for the Polish team as well. Them getting that side of the ground and bouncing around and making it a really good atmosphere.

"As far as being in the south west I think you can see that the club has come on leaps and bounds. Certainly since I was living in Bristol.

"It's an amazing place and ground and it's great that the senior England and Women teams are considering, if not coming, here."

Ashton Gate has a capacity of 27,000 and a visit from the likes of Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane would almost certainly be another sell-out.

A crowd of 82,575 watched England beat the Czech Republic 5-0 on Friday night at Wembley.
