Ardrossan Winton Rovers boss Stevie Wilson has set his sights on promotion after landing ALL of his summer transfer targets.
Rovers just missed out on making the step up from League One last season, but Wilson reckons he now has the squad to go one better.
Of 11 new arrivals at Winton Park, experienced defender Martyn Brown, who won the Junior Cup with Hurlford United in 2014, stands out as a marquee signing.
Veteran striker Ian Cashmore, a proven goalscorer on the Junior scene, is another impressive addition.
Wilson said: “The players we’ve brought in demand high standards and have a real will to win. Finishing fourth last season was better than anyone expected but we lacked the guile to see games out and that cost us.
“This time we‘ve got to be aiming for promotion. It’s not enough to just be happy to be up there challenging.”
Wilson has shored up his defensive options with the capture of Stuart Hannah from Darvel, Kyle Lochhead from Dalry Thistle, Fraser Smith from Maybole and Gareth Brown from Benburb.
Midfielder Jamie Henderson makes the move from Darvel with Liam McMenamay and Kyle Black arriving from Renfrew Under-21s to provide competition for places.
Forwards Del Kennedy and Dylan Hamilton bolster Wilson’s attacking options.
