Ardoyne murder investigation: Police probing fatal shooting of Robbie Lawlor make another arrest

Police investigating the fatal shooting of Robbie Lawlor in North Belfast have made another arrest.

The 36-year-old Dublin gangster was shot dead at Etna Drive around 11.50am on Saturday, April 4.

Police have so far questioned and released three men, aged 27, 30 and 33 and a 17-year-old boy in relation to the death.

A fifth suspect, a man aged 36, was arrested last night.

Lawlor was believed to have been a suspect in the brutal murder of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods whose dismembered remains were found in Dublin in January.

Belfast Live reported at the weekend there had been unconfirmed reports that Lawlor was making demands for money from certain people in North Belfast prior to his death.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating the murder of Robbie Lawlor in Etna Drive in North Belfast on Saturday 4th April have arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

"The male was detained last night and remains in custody at present."

Anyone with CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage recorded in the area of Etna Drive and Kingston Court is being asked to make it available to police through the Major Incident Public Portal, which can be accessed from any device with internet access.
