Ardmonagh Parade shooting leaves man in hospital

A man has suffered injuries in a shooting in Belfast tonight.

It is believed that the victim was shot in both knees in a paramilitary-style attack.

The incident took place in Ardmonagh Parade in the west of the city. Police are currently at the scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We received the report of a man having been shot in an alleyway in Ardmonagh Parade.

"We sent two crews to the scene and he was transported to the Royal Victoria Hospital.”

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police currently at scene of a paramilitary-style shooting in Ardmonagh Parade, West Belfast.

"Report received around 8:05pm that a man in his 50s was shot in both knees. He’s been taken to hospital for treatment. Witnesses or anyone with info call 101; quote reference 1162 23/03/19."
