It's been a tough 18 months without a lot of laughs, but thankfully we appear to be turning something of a corner, with indoor events now at 60 per cent capacity for the vaccinated.

The week-long comedy event will take place from Tuesday 19 to Monday 25 October in Galway city, with appearances from lots of well-known faces fron all across the UK and Irela
The line-up
Set to appear are comedy faviourites including Jason Byrne, Deirdre O'Kane, Ed Byrne, Nina Conti, Reginald D Hunter, Shaparak Khorsandi, Ardal O'Hanlon and Andrew Maxwell.
With 80 acts in total, playing 45 shows over the seven days, with more to be announced, there's something for everyone.
Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 9am from galwaycomedyfestival.ie.
As well as all the usual stand-up, there'll also be a live recording of the TRIGGERnometry Podcast, Faulty Towers: The Dining Experience, and alternative local history with Open Top City Bus Tours.
Not only that, but there'll also be late-night craic with The Dirty Circus in The Loft at Seven and Late Night KARLnival in the Róisín Dubh hosted by Karl Spain. Count us in.
