Arctic Monkeys Glasgow gig in doubt as band cancel concert days before Bellahouston Park show

Arctic Monkeys fans heading to Glasgow are starting to worry that the gig may not go ahead as there are fears over the lead singer's health.

The indie-rock band are scheduled to wow music lovers at Bellahouston Park on June 25, however, the group tweeted that they had to shelve their Dublin show as Alex Turner was diagnosed with laryngitis.

The southside concert is Arctic Monkeys' only Scottish stop on their tour and it is one many of their fans north of the border hope will go ahead.

Apologising for the Dublin cancellation, the band tweeted: "Alex is suffering from acute laryngitis, and following medical advice, has been ordered to rest.

"Alex and the band apologise for the huge disappointment this will inevitably cause to all their Irish fans. Full refunds will be credited back to the ticket purchaser's account by Ticketmaster within the next six working days."

One worried fan tweeted: "Not sure I will be able to cope if Sunday’s gig in Glasgow is cancelled/rescheduled."

Another said: "Don't cancel Glasgow hope he's well enough for Sunday."
