Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner has sparked a marriage mystery with his French girlfriend, Louise Verneuil.
The lovebirds have largely flown under the radar during their five-year romance, but photos have emerged of singer-songwriter Louise wearing a ring on her wedding finger.
One picture handed to us this week shows her eating ice cream on a bench while wearing a simple gold band.
Another black and white snap shows the brunette wearing the ring as she smooches R U Mine? singer Alex, 37, in a tent at a friend’s wedding.
A third image shows the couple walking hand-in-hand with the ring firmly in place. The snaps were all taken last year.
We understand the notoriously private pair, who split their time between London and Paris, secretly got engaged a year after they met. In an interview at the time, Louise, 34, said their relationship made her the target of misogynistic hate on Instagram.
It is believed that is why she prefers to keep their love life low-key and doesn’t wear her wedding band in public or on social media.
Alex and Louise were first spotted together in 2018 when the Arctic Monkeys – whose other members are Jamie Cook, Matt Helders and Nick O’Malley – were touring their Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino album.
In 2020, Sheffield-born Alex left Los Angeles, where he lived for six years, to return to the UK with Louise so she could be closer to France – and she has been his rock ever since.
Days ago, she got the Eurostar from Paris to help nurse Alex back to health as he battled acute laryngitis ahead of the band’s Glasto set.
He recovered in time for the Monkeys’ star turn on the Pyramid stage on Friday – but some fans were left moaning about the slow tempo.
Before meeting Louise – real name Pauline Louise Benattar – Alex dated British model Alexa Chung, US model Taylor Bagley and American actress Arielle Vandenberg.
But judging by these pics, he has finally settled on A Certain Romance.
