Archie christening photos: Official pictures from Royal Baby's baptism released

Two photographs from the christening of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first child Archie have been released.

One image released was a family photo inside Windsor Castle's Green Drawing Room, which shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sitting with their child alongside the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge.

Standing behind them are the Prince of Wales, Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, the Duke of Cambridge and the sisters of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale.

A second shot in black-and-white shows Meghan dressed in white gazing into Harry's eyes, while cradling her son, full name Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The image shows the castle's Rose Garden in the background.

A Royal Communications spokesperson said: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to share the happiness of this day, and would like to thank everyone around the world for their ongoing support. They feel so fortunate to have enjoyed this special moment with family and Archie’s godparents.”

The images were taken by fashion photographer Chris Allerton and released on Saturday.

Mr Allerton said: "I am honoured to take the official photographs at the christening of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, and to once again, be part of such a special and joyous occasion for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

In accordance with Royal tradition, The Lily Font and water from the River Jordan were used during the christening, which was officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, reportedly arrived at the ceremony at around 11am by car and helicopter respectively.

Tiggy Legge-Bourke, Harry and William's nanny, was seen leaving the ceremony in a car at around 1pm, according to reports.

Archie, who was born in May, wore the handmade replica of the royal christening robe, made by the Queen's dressmaker Angela Kelly, during the ceremony.

The Lily Font, commissioned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert for the baptism of their first child Victoria, Princess Royal, in 1841, was used, as was water from the River Jordan.

Members of the St George’s Chapel Choir performed at the ceremony.

The Duchess of Sussex was wearing Dior. The Duchess of Cambridge was wearing Stella McCartney
