Arches wedding chapel returns: Glasgow brides become first couple to get officially hitched in iconic venue

Getting married at the Arches used the only way to end the night after an evening on the sticky floors of Octopussy

The beloved club night saw countless boozed-up clubbers get hitched over the years. But sadly (or perhaps, thankfully) the vows made in the legendary Arches were never legally binding.

Now, almost eight years after the Octopussy wedding chapel closed it's doors, one couple have become the first pair to officially tie the knot at the Arches.

Angela McIntyre and Lisa Mclean are celebrating after becoming the first ever couple to marry at the Arches.

The Glasgow couple, first met on Tinder and became engaged when Angela surprised Lisa with a ring in a Kinder egg.

The pair chose the Arches as their wedding venue because it had huge significance to them - they went on their first date there nearly five years ago.

Angela said: "It was so special because we had our first date there, so it was wonderful to celebrate with all our family and friends where it all began.

"The venue was amazing and the team went above an beyond to make our day magical. And our photgrapher Grant was brilliant at capturing the day."

And best of all Angela had no reason to be jealous, as Lisa swears it was her visit time getting hitched at the venue - despite visiting Octopussy all those years ago.

"Lisa has been to Octopussy and had a shot on the bouncy castle," joked Angela. "But she assures me she never 'married' anyone in the chapel."

Congratulations to Angela and Lisa from everyone at Glasgow Live!
