Arch Manning recruiting: QB’s still ‘wide open’ on college decision

Arch Manning is perhaps the hottest name in high school football.

The grandson of Archie, son of Cooper and nephew of Peyton and Eli, Arch has helped Newman start the 2021 high school season with a 4-2 record in Louisiana.

The junior quarterback is being recruited by some of the biggest college football programs in the country, including Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Texas and Ole Miss. Right now, there’s not a clear front-runner, at least that’s what Arch is saying.

“I’m still wide open. I’m just enjoying the process,” Arch said in a recent interview with Mark Schlabach for a feature story on ESPN. “It’s cool to get to go visit some of the best schools in the country.”

Arch is expected to make official visits in the spring, with a decision perhaps coming after that. He does not appear to be in a big rush to pick a school.

Arch went viral last weekend after rushing 68 yards for a touchdown, but it’s primarily his passing that has drawn attention from the nation’s biggest programs. Arch has completed 63% of his passes this season for 1,327 yards with 17 touchdown passes against three interceptions.

Over the last three years (26 games), Arch has scored 88 total touchdowns. He’s going to be a huge talent for whatever school he decides to attend.
