It's a good rule of thumb to wait a couple of days after any big update before making any rash decisions, because some of the effects can be unintended. One Arc Raiders player is feeling the sting of impulsivity by recycling a load of Venator 4s after they were nerfed, only for Embark to fix the changes because they were an accident.
After the rollout of the Headwinds patch, players began to notice the Venator 4 wasn't firing the same. Which is odd, because it's not mentioned in the notes, but as more people looked into it, a quiet nerf became apparent. Since the pistol isn't as useful any more, one player decided to recycle their rather large collection of them.
A friend of streamer Nick 'Nickmercs' Kolcheff did so live on Twitch, on January 27, recycling 109 Venator 4s before heading in to check out Headwinds proper. "Chat, he just recycled 109 Ven4s," an incredulous Nickmercs says right after it's done.

Naturally, now that he's done that, Embark has addressed the issue. A fix that went live yesterday, January 28, rolled back unwanted weaponry changes. "Fixed an issue that caused unintended fire rate changes to several weapons," says a rundown on the official Discord.
A complementary dev note makes it clear if it's not a listed alteration, it’s probably something to alert the devs to. "Following yesterday's update, some weapons were affected by a bug that reduced their rate of fire," the comment reads. "This was not an intentional change. We always aim to include all changes in our patch notes, and we appreciate you flagging this quickly."
Looks like Kolcheff's streaming buddy will have to restart their collection. Oh well, at least they have new Epic augments to celebrate.
