Arc Raiders hit with "extensive, coordinated DDoS attacks" causing server and matchmaking issues, Embark says, with The Finals struggling too

Embark Studios says servers are being hit by "extensive, co-ordinated DDoS attacks," which have led some players of both Arc Raiders and The Finals to struggle to enter matches, or to suffer from persistent lag when they finally manage to enter a game.

The studio hasn't publicly identified a time for when the attacks started, but Embark community lead Julia Ossen made a statement to players on Discord giving "An update on recent server issues." In her message, she explains that both of Embark Studios' games "have been under extensive, co-ordinated DDoS attacks," and that the team is working to try and find solutions.

"The strike team has been working hard on mitigations and solutions to fix the problem, and we are making good progress," Ossen says. "But at this point in time the attacks are still ongoing." The community lead goes on to talk about issues introduced in the last patch that the team hopes to rectify today, January 28.

Ossen ends the message by saying that the team will update the Discord server when there is more information to share about the attacks. "Stay vigilant, Raiders – and we'll see you Topside when we're through this," stands as Ossen's final sign off.

Users on Reddit, are having mixed reactions to the news. Some are claiming they are entering and playing matches with no issues, while others are saying they have suffered from problems like severe lag.

Arc Raiders adding Legendary guns aimed at PvP is "completely possible," but Embark bans any "one-shot" kills: "I think that gameplay is deeply boring"
