Live Nation on Wednesday announced the Aragon Ballroom will be renamed Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom.

Byline Bank secured name-in-title sponsor rights to the iconic Chicago music venue in Uptown, where more than 250,000 people attend concerts/events yearly.

“Byline Bank is committed to building relationships within the community, which is why we felt they are such a natural partner for this historic venue,” Live Nation president Jason Wright said via statement. “Together, we will be able to establish genuine bonds with members of the community who have a passion for live music through seamless brand integration.”

The Rolling Stones, Nirvana (in its last Chicago show), Green Day, Soul Asylum, Wilco, Fall Out Boy, Lupe Fiasco and Metallica are just a few of the artists who’ve played or recorded albums at the legendary music hall over the years. Kesha performed a sold-out concert in 2017.

Construction of the venue was completed in 1926. The facade of the building, at 1106 W. Lawrence, was designated a historic landmark in 2016 by the Chicago City Council as part of a sweeping “landmark status” decision for the Uptown Entertainment District.

According to blockclubchicago.org, the venue’s iconic marquee was recently given a bit of a sprucing up, as crews were spotted carefully re-painting it and replacing lightbulbs.
