Interior Minister Aryeh Deri has given orders to trip an Arab-Israeli of his citizenship for fighting alongside ISIS in Syria.
He accused Abdallah Hajleh of treason, asking the Supreme Court to approve his request on the grounds of breach of loyalty to the state of Israel and intent to harm the security of the state and its citizens.
The minister said that Hajleh, who traveled to Syria about six years ago, “presents a threat to the Israeli people.”
Hajleh, who has a second nationality, is currently residing in Europe.
Deri also filed a request with the Central District Court to issue an order barring Hajleh from entering Israel. The court approved the request on Thursday.
