Arab Coalition Strikes Houthis Responsible for Jizan Ballistic Attack

The Saudi-led Arab coalition announced on Thursday that it had struck in Yemen’s Saada the Iran-backed Houthi militants responsible for Wednesday’s ballistic missile attack against Saudi’s Jizan region, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said: “Today's attack in Saada was a legitimate military operation ... and was carried out in accordance with international humanitarian law.”

The air strikes targeted missile launchers used to attack Jizan.

Wednesday’s missile was intercepted and destroyed by Saudi air defenses. A Yemeni was killed and 11 civilians were wounded by the missile fragments.

Maliki accused the Houthis of using children as human shields.

“The coalition will take all measures to confront the Houthi terrorist militias’ criminal and terrorist acts, such as the recruitment of children and their deployment in battlefields,” he added.

The terrorist elements and leaders responsible for firing ballistic missiles and targeting civilians will be held accountable as part of the coalition’s efforts to prevent them from harming regional and international security, he vowed.
