The Arab Coalition’s command referred the conduct of an airstrike, staged in the Kitaf district of Saadah governorate in Yemen, for review by the Joint Incident Assessment Team (JIAT).
Coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki confirmed the referral of all data pertaining to the Kitaf operation, which took place on March 26, to JIAT for a detailed assessment.
Maliki, in a statement, reaffirmed the Coalition’s unwavering commitment to international conventions on human rights, laws of military engagement and maintaining transparency.
JIAT spokesman and legal adviser Mansour Al-Mansour also revealed the results of a probe into the conduct of a number of Coalition operations that were questioned by international parties and media.
In his brief, Mansour said Coalition forces had hit six targets containing arms and ammunition.
Arwa school, in the Houthi stronghold of Sanaa, was utilized as a weapons depot and hideout for top militia leaders.
Houthis’ militarizing of the school had made it a valid target for Coalition forces, Mansour confirmed.
