The Saudi-led Arab coalition announced on Monday that it was launching “wide-scale military operations to liberate Yemen’s Hodeidah province.”
The operations will be waged from several axes, added coalition forces commander on the West coast Ali al-Tunaiji.
The march on Hodeidah city was boosted by the legitimate forces’ control last week of the Kilo 16 region and its severing of one of the Iran-backed Houthis militias’ most important supply routes between Sanaa and Hodeidah.

The Arab coalition is continuing its military operations on the West coast with the participation of joint resistance forces, he stated, revealing that strategic military plans have been put in place to surprise the militias, which are suffering from low morale.
Moreover, he said that the military armament of the resistance forces was bolstered with advanced weapons in preparation for the liberation of the remaining regions of Hodeidah province.
Military reinforcements have been brought in and they have taken up their positions in anticipation of the launch of the operations, he stressed, while also underlining the need to safeguard civilians.
