The Arab Coalition intercepted and downed a drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militias from Sanaa towards the southwestern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, its spokesman said Thursday.
Spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki also denied in a statement that Houthis have targeted sensitive sites at the King Khalid air base.
“Their lies reflect the militias’ level of desperation,” he said in the statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
He said the Coalition considers ongoing attempts by the terrorist militias to target civilians as a “war crime.”
“The Coalition leadership will continue to take decisive measures to neutralize and destroy their capabilities,” added Maliki.
On Thursday evening, Maliki stated that Coalition forces managed to intercept another drone in Yemeni airspace also launched by Houthis from Sanaa governorate in an attempt to target the Kingdom.
He reminded the international community of the hostile actions committed by the militias.
