The Saudi-led Arab coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen announced on Monday that it had downed a drone launched by the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias towards Saudi Arabia.

Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said the aircraft was flown from the Houthi-held city of Sanaa in Yemen towards the Kingdom.

The drone was shot down over Yemeni territory.

Maliki said the Houthis continue to launch drones to carry out hostile and terrorist acts to target civilians.

None of the aircraft have reached their targets and were intercepted and destroyed, he added.

He reiterated that the coalition will continue to pursue its deterrent measures against the Houthis to neutralize their capabilities in line with International Humanitarian Law.
