Saudi Defenses Destroy 5 Houthi Drones Fired at Kingdom

Coalition spokesman Brigadier General Turki al-Malki. (Asharq Al-Awsat)

Saudi air defenses shot down on Wednesday five armed drones fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen towards the Kingdom.

The drones were aimed at the Jazan and southern regions, said the Saudi-led Arab coalition.

It slammed the Houthis for their persistence in targeting civilians and civilian locations, stressing that it was taking operational procedures to protect them and address any imminent threat.

Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen condemned the Houthi violations, stressing that the OIC denounces all terrorist practices committed by the militias.

The OIC also stands by Saudi Arabia in all the measures it takes to preserve its security and stability, he added.
