The Saudi-led Arab coalition announced on Tuesday that it has destroyed five sea mines positioned by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in the southern Red Sea.

It said the “Sadaf” type mines are produced in Iran.

The coalition has destroyed 163 such explosives arbitrarily planted by the Houthis in the Red Sea, it said.

Such Iran-supported hostile acts threaten marine security in the Bab al-Mandeb and southern Red Sea area, it added.
