Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom: Jason Momoa's trailer sees him embracing an all-new avatar of King, husband and father

Hold your breath, because we're taking a dive into the deep with the trailer of Jason Momoa's grand superhero fantasy action film 'Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom'. After keeping fans waiting months on end for the big trailer drop, the makers on Thursday night, dropped the new clip featuring Jason Momoa in an all-new avatar of a Dad.

In the film, the actor is set to make his return as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, opposite Patrick Wilson's Orm, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the Black Manta. Director James Wan, renowned for his work in the Aquaman series, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the chance to witness Curry's character growth. The film's inception saw Arthur as somewhat of a nomad, but Wan makes his sit back down and play the role of King, father and superhero.

According to reports, the heart of the movie will revolve around the complex relationship between Arthur and Orm. It will also feature Amber Heard as Mera, the Queen of Atlantis and mother of the heir to the throne.

The trailer also gives fans a first look at Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the supervillain, Black Manta. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. It will see him determined to exact vengeance for his father's demise by annihilating Aquaman, his family, and Atlantis. According to reports, Wan is set to lead the film down a different path.

The film's official synopsis reads: "Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction."

This cinematic saga marks the final chapter in a universe that took flight a decade ago with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel in 2013. After the culmination of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Warner Bros. executives James Gunn and Peter Safran are gearing up to embark on their own cinematic universe adventure. This new universe will kick off with the highly anticipated Superman: Legacy, scheduled for release in July 2025.
