Aqib Talib has hilarious reaction to massive MLB contracts being signed

Aqib Talib has spent 11 years in the NFL and will make it a dozen in 2019 with the Los Angeles Rams. He’s earned about $64 million in his career, which is obviously a huge sum of money. If he remains with the Rams through next season and retires in 2020, he’ll have made about $72 million.

When you compare that figure to the contracts some MLB players are signing, it looks significantly smaller. Just this offseason, Bryce Harper signed a 13-year deal worth $330 million, all of which is guaranteed. Mike Trout also signed a 12-year, $430 million contract with the Angels, making him the richest player in MLB history.

On Tuesday, the Braves and Ronald Acuña Jr. agreed to terms on an eight-year deal that will pay him $100 million. He’s played 115 career games in two seasons.

Talib caught wind of all these massive contracts and had a hilarious reaction on Twitter.

C.J. Anderson, who played with Talib in Denver and with the Rams, commented on the corner’s tweet, too.

It’s hard not to see these contracts baseball players are signing and marvel at their value – especially considering they’re guaranteed. In the NFL, fully guaranteed contracts are almost non-existent with the exception of Kirk Cousins’ deal with the Vikings last year.
