Apprentice winner Alana Spencer buys out Lord Sugar from bakery business

The Apprentice winner Alana Spencer has bought Lord Sugar's stake in her bakery business.

The baker from Aberystwyth was crowned the winner in 2016.

She secured a £250,000 investment from the business tycoon in her Wales-based company Ridiculously Rich.

Now she has now bought up his share of the company so she can go it alone.

Lord Sugar says he will "follow Alana’s progress with much affection".

Alana said: "A little while ago I had the amazing opportunity to buy out Lord Sugar from Ridiculously Rich and take full control back of my business.

"It was an exciting, crazy, scary few months while the final details were being agreed and sorted, but something I am so grateful for."

She added: "Working with Lord Sugar has been an incredible experience and I have learned such a lot in such a short space of time. I am so greatful for his time in Ridiculously Rich by Alana.

"Not only have I had the help and guidance of Lord Sugar, but also his amazing team that come with it.

"Upscaling a business, in a completely different way than you had ever planned is hard work, but it has been a truly amazing experience and I am very lucky to have been able to buy back my business so early on."

The new series of The Apprentice starts on October 2 at 9pm on BBC One.
