Apprentice star says contestants are accompanied to the toilet to stop cheating

Hopefuls on The Apprentice are accompanied to the toilet to stop cheating and plotting.

Dean Ahmad, one of this year’s stars, bemoaned the contestants’ total lack of privacy as he told how the business wannabes are “treated like kids”.

He said they are not allowed to leave the BBC house and are always under the watch of chaperones.

The 20-year-old sports management agent added: “You can’t see or speak to your family. You have your phone taken, aren’t allowed to watch the news, read a newspaper or go on the internet.

"There is a TV which we are allowed to watch but you have to get every programme approved.

“You can’t take pens or paper in. You are allowed books but they’re screened beforehand.

“You aren’t allowed to listen to music. It is like going on Big Brother just without the cameras all the time.

“It was crazy. We went to an office for one task. There was a TV playing and a runner ran over to cover it up saying we couldn’t watch. That’s how seriously they take it.”

He added: “You can be completely isolated for two months. We all had a moment when we all wanted to make a run for it and break out.

“Having said all that it was the best experience of my life. It was so tough but incredible too.”
