Applications for those looking to join the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service open tomorrow

Budding firefighters can apply to join the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in the morning.

We reported last month that around 300 firefighters were being taken on as part of a major recruitment drive.

They want hundreds of new firefighters to join the 3000-plus team already working hard to protect communities across the country.

They say that they are looking for people from all walks of life to put themselves forward – especially as only five per cent of Scotland's firefighters identify as women and less than one per cent belong to an ethnic minority.

Around 300 new firefighters are being recruited by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service

A series of open days have been taking place across the country where potential applicants have been learning more about what the role entials.

But if you've not been along it's still not too late to put yourself forward.
